Q: Which oven rack should I bake my cake on?
A: It is always best to aim to bake your cake as close to the centre of the oven as possible unless specified. For a shallow cake tin (or a tray of biscuits) this will mean placing it on the middle rack but for a deep cake you may find you need to use the second rack from the bottom so that the cake sits in the middle of your oven.
