Q: How long can you keep baking powder for?
A: Baking powder will generally keep for 1-2 years if kept in an airtight container away from heat, light and moisture. If you are unsure if you have kept it for too long you can check if it is still active by adding about 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder into a small dish of warm to hot tap water. If it is still active it bubbles and froths immediately.
