Check your ramekin size
30 Sep 2025 - Anneka Manning
Recipes will sometimes call for a dish or ramekin with a specific capacity – like when making a soufflé or creme brûlée. The easiest way to check your dish capacity is to fill it with water while weighing it. One millilitre of water equals one gram, so if it holds 250 grams, that means holds 250 millilitres – or 1 cup. And a handy tip is to write the capacity on the base of your dish to reference next time.
