Winter Baking Series: Amy Minichiello
Welcome to our Winter Baking Series. Over the next few months, we will be meeting some of our favourite bakers here, asking them what they’re making, loving and sharing in these cold months. And I couldn’t think of a better person to start with than Amy Minichiello.
Amy is a valued member of our BakeClub & Co. community, a cook, food writer and author of Recipes in the Mail (a truly gorgeous book). Her Insta feed is a place of generosity and beautiful food, I highly recommend giving her a follow!
Thanks for getting this series started, Amy!
Q: What's something you'll be baking on repeat this month?
A: Anneka's Fine apple tart. It is such a winner!
Q: Bread or Cake?
A: A good sourdough with lashings of butter.
Q: The cookbook you're using most at the moment?
A: The Irish Bakery by @cheriedenhamcooks and @montgomeryphoto.
Q: It's a cold Sunday morning, and you've got friends coming around for morning tea. What do you bake?
A: Gingerbread loaf with poached quince and scones, freshly whipped cream, and raspberry jam because I can never bake just one thing!
Q: Tell us one thing you love about being part of our BakeClub & Co. membership.
A: Just one thing! How do I choose? The extensive knowledge that is shared so generously in the community by everyone. Since joining, I have learned so much, from the tiniest tips to the bigger "aha" moments that have only improved my baking awareness and skills.
