Smartphone Photography for Bakers with Michelle Crawford

SMARTPHONE PHOTOGRAPHY for BAKERS: How to shoot great shots with what you have
Following on from Michelle’s morning session on preserving (Tasmania in a Jar), this hands-on workshop will teach you how to use your smartphone as a tool to show the world what’s happening in your kitchen – to take amazing shots of your baking at home be it to share with family and friends, for social media, your website or blog.
You will learn:
- The best place to set up a food styling studio at home
- How to use natural light to enhance your photographs
- The importance of composition and finding your own style
- How to use everyday items / what to have on hand to tell your story
- The use of backdrops and prop selection and where to source them
- How to take a great photo on your phone and the best apps for editing
This workshop will be practical, useful and completely approachable. AND we’ll be eating a little bit of cake along the way!
Michelle will also be hosting a preserving workshop, Tasmania in a Jar, earlier in the day from 9.30-1pm. Click Here for more details and to book.
NOTE: Cake Bake and Sweet Show is in Sydney on Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th November so if you are travelling to Sydney for the weekend, it might be worth a visit!
About Michelle Crawford
Driven by a love of potatoes, Michelle ditched the bright lights of Sydney for a quiet life in an old farmhouse in the Tasmanian countryside. When not cooking on her wood stove and chasing naughty chickens out of the vegetable garden, she finds herself busy working as a food stylist, workshop teacher, food consultant, cook and writer.
Whilst this lifestyle sounds idyllic what motivates Michelle is a passion for real food and the people who produce it. A devoted cook and eater, she can often be found driving down country roads sourcing the very best produce from growers and farmers and spending far too long talking to them about potatoes. She is also the co-author of Not Just Jam.
